How well do you know about Rehna Hai Tere dil Main (Minaale)?

THE CONTENTS MIGHT CHANGE IN FUTURE!
It’s all about my all time favorite movie
 Rehna  hai  Terre  dil Mein
(I want to live/stay in your Heart)
(Minnale)

It was Friday night and my wall clock was showing 09:30 p.m, when I was lying on a bed and was watching “Matinee Friday Night” on National (Doordarshan) Channel. The movie was featuring South actor Madhvan (before it he was like stranger, I hadn’t seen his movie before). That night was the most romantic night (I think) had been in my life. That night I feel love in air (Its all because of my damaged door, the cool breeze were coming through it…and was planting great scenario – Romantic SCENE). The film has “lot of verve and vigor".
I like this movie because of its following ingredients;
Songs and Background Music
The Location (South Africa and Local Mumbai)
Humored
Romantic and Happy Ending
Dia Mirza and Madhvan
Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (English: I want to stay in your heart) is a 2001 Indian film directed by Gautham Menon. It was a remake of the popular Tamil film Minnale which also starred Madhavan in the lead. The film was unsuccessful during the time of its release (I dunno why?), but over the years it has developed some sort of a cult following among Indian youth.

MOVIE PLOT / SUMMARY
Cupid's arrow and a lot more strike at Madhav Shastri (R. Madhavan) when he first has a glimpse of beautiful Reena Malhotra (Diya Mirza). Thereafter he meets her again and finds out that she is the betrothed of one Rajiv, and so impersonating Rajiv he enters Reena's life. They both fall in love. Then American-settled Rajiv Samra (Saif Ali Khan), who used to know Madhav from college, comes to India to marry Reena. Reena is shocked to find out that the one she has given her heart out to is a fraud and a fake. Accordingly, she decides not to do anything with him, and let her parents (Maya Alagh and Navin Nischol) go ahead with the arranged marriage with Rajiv.
He also confronts Reena, but Reena refuses to have anything to do with him. This devastates Madhav (or Maddy), who plans to go to San Francisco and start a new life. By this time Rajiv, starts preparation for their marriage. But at the time of marriage ceremony, Rajiv observes that Reena has no excitement and charm for marriage. He then takes Reena to a separate room and asks her whether she loves him or Maddy. He insists that she use her method to decide (which was told to her by Maddy). Reena closes her eyes and Maady comes in her thoughts. She tells Rajiv that she would not use this method to take any decision of her life from then.
Maddy is at airport, ready to leave and his friends and his Dad are there to see him off when Rajiv and Reena arrives, seeing Reena, Maddy gets totally astounded, Maddy thinks Reena has got married to Rajiv. Rajiv goes over to Maddy and hands over Reena to him. At the end Maddy proposes to Reena, and she agrees. Rajiv is a little heart-broken. However puts a brave face in front of Reena and Maddy and goes. Both, Maddy and Reena get married, and lead a happy life.

Well that was the STORY of Rehna hai Tere Dil mein, though it’s different than its original version MINAALE.

The soundtrack was retained from the original film, composed by Harris Jayaraj. The songs of the film were composed in Classical Western style and were much acclaimed. The lyrics were written by Sameer.

Vashu Bhagnani was the producer of RHTDM. He launched Puja Entertainment India Ltd. in 1995 with the movie Coolie No. 1. His latest ventures are Kal Kissne Dekha (2009) and F.A.L.T.U (2011) where he introduced his son Jackky Bhagnani.
In 2011, the producer of the film Vashu Bhagnani approached this film’s Director Gautham Menon to remake the film with the producer's son Jackky Bhagnani in the lead role, but Menon was uninterested with the offer.
Jacky Bhagnani is a lead actor of “Kal Kisne Dekha” and “F.A.L.T.U”.
The film MINAALE grossed $2 million at the box office.
Apart from a few centers the film Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein was not well received by the audience (in North India).
In July 2004, Menon also agreed terms to direct and produce another version of Kaakha Kaakha in Hindi with Sunny Deol in the lead role and revealed that the script was written five years ago with Deol in mind, but the film eventually failed to take off. Producer Vipul Shah approached him to direct the Hindi version of the film in 2010 as Force (releasing in 2011) with John Abraham and Genelia D'Souza, and Menon initially agreed before pulling out again.
Gautham Menon(director) was a student of mechanical engineering at Mookambigai       College of Engineering in the batch of 1993, and his time there inspired him to make his lead characters of Minnale (RHTDM), students of the same course.
Menon had come under further pressure when Madhavan had insisted that Menon narrated the story to his mentor, Mani Ratnam, to identify if the film was a positive career move after the success of his Alaipayuthey. Despite initial reservations, Menon did so and Ratnam was unimpressed; however Menon has cited that he thought that Madhavan "felt sorry" and later agreed to continue with the project.
